Not Alone / Space Limo

Excerpt from Beatport.com / Oct. 18th 2011

“With its 20th release, petFood is pleased to present you with a 2-track EP from Los Angeles-based producer Nikko Gibler. A professional piano player hailing from Monterrey (Mexico), Nikko Gibler’s name is very much on the rise. His recent productions on Culprit and Leftroom have been very well received and this EP will be no different. The first track off the EP is a deep groove called ‘Space Limo’- a melodic, bass heavy tune with some beautiful stabs. No vocals, no big build up, just a solid groove. The other track, ‘Not Alone’, is an afterhours tune with a hypnotizing vibe. The eerie piano is perfectly complimented by a killer bassline that kicks in mid-song and takes the track to a whole new level.

Nikko Gibler

Great news!!!

As I had posted a couple of days ago, my brand new track “Hide From No One” will be released on Culprit LA, September 21st 2011. However… To my surprise, it has already been named track of the day at FestivalZoo.com.

Some of FestivalZoo’s most recent “tracks of the day” were produced or remixed by globally recognized recording artists such as Cassius, David Guetta, Adam Beyer, Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, Danny Daze, Laura Jones, Soul Clap, Maya Jane Coles, Dubfire and Booka Shade. Only to name a select few…

Most people haven’t even heard the second part of the lyrics! The wildness is coming.

Nikko Gibler’s “Say You Care” is a dark, sleazy and infectious bomb. Its fat bass line beckons in wobbly percussion and atmospheric washes of melody that build up a tight rhythm. The result is a twisted bumper. The track builds to a solid marching beat and the injection of a trippy edge gives the track a hedonistic identity. The vocal is sleazy but it’s disparate tones hint at 4am depravity, making this an evocative dancefloor weapon. Support from Steve Lawler, Ivan Smagghe, Danny Tennaglia, Laurent Garnier, Matt Tolfrey, Inxec, Droog and more…

Synthesizer Galore - Moroder, Reznor, Hancock, Kraftwerk...

The following artists are 7 of my favorite synthesists ever. Synthesizers are machines made with the sole purpose of creating weird, crazy, angry, tiny, huge or lovely sounds . When these sounds are recorded into a multi-track medium, the results can be mind blowing. Synthesists are people who dedicate their lives to innovating and coming up with new and ground-breaking soundscapes or riffs and combinations of them. I have included a selected works playlist below. Feel free to listen and comment! (In No Particular Order)

1 •  Giorgio Moroder

2 •  Herbie Hancock

3 •  Kraftwerk

4 •  Klaus Schulze

5 •  Trent Reznor

6 •  Walter “Wendy” Carlos

7 •  Jean-Jacques Perrey
