If you haven’t seen it, I strongly suggest you watch “House of Cards” starring Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright and Kate Mara. All thirteen episodes are available now on Netflix. Watch them in one go over the weekend. You won’t be disappointed.
What do the Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, The World Trade Organization, The International Food & Agricultural Trade Policy Council, Monsanto’s CEO Hugh Grant, GE, Cargill’s Gregory R. Page, Archer Daniels Midland, The Biotechnology Industry Organization, David C. Novak, The Dairy Coalition, Newscorp, UnitedHealth, Delta Airlines, S. Curtis Johnson, Tyson, Sara Lee, defense contractor Lockheed Martin and LFTB have in common? Everything. But specifically, money.
You see Thomas Vilsack, Secretary of Agriculture or head of the USDA and ex-governor of Iowa was nominated for office by Barack Obama in Dec. 2008. He has been strongly endorsed by the Corn Refiners Association as well as other farming unions and associations for many, many years.
The Corn Refiners Association in turn is made up of companies such as Cargill, Archer Daniels Midland and a few other companies from both private and public sectors. Cargill being the largest privately held company in America with revenue of over $139 billion in 2012 alone. Since they are a privately owned company, transparency is not something that can be legally demanded from them. Absurd. Something should be done about these exceptions.
With that being said, I might add that LFTB (soylent pink) commonly known as Pink Slime was invented by Eldon Roth and launched for human consumption in 2001 after much controversy and multiple undisclosed health trials. Some companies that produce this product are now Tyson, BPI and you guessed it, Cargill.
S. Curtis Johnson chairman of JohnsonDiversey is also on the board of directors at Cargill. S.C. Johnson & Son’s (now JohnsonDiversey’s) previous and current board members include Gerard Arpey CEO of American Airlines and Abelardo E. Bru, CEO of Frito-Lay between 1999-2004. Without leaving our topic of interest for too long, I must say that it is remarkably fishy that a privately owned company, with so much global influence, with a slogan like “A family company” ; has a chairman who was convicted on one count, of listen to this, repeated sexual assault of a child (24-Mar-2011) First of all, one count of repeated? That makes no sense at all. But privately owned means less disclosure. How convenient. So, a man with arguably no moral compass is having business luncheons and poking belly-buttons with every other leader of the free world. And they are making all the choices as to what’s best for you. On Cargill’s board you will also find none-other than Richard H. Anderson, CEO of Delta Airlines (Airplane food? Totally foreseeable.) And where else does Anderson function as an executive? UnitedHealth Group. Insurance. What a dirty little number.
So let me tell you about LFTB and why all of these guys suck.
LFTB is disgusting. It is a meat filler created by Cargill (amongst other companies) separating meat trimmings from their fat through hot centrifuges and then ran by ammonia gas or citric acid to kill bacteria. Yes. Ammonia the type that’s bad for you. The type that kills you. This product is later mixed up with ground meet products all around America at a ratio of no more than 25%. So up-to a quarter of your delicious Quarter Pounder is not what you think. According to ABC News, 70% of ground beef sold in US supermarkets contains it. It is banned in the European Union, not available in UK and not permitted in Canada. BPI a producer of this goo is suing ABC news for a little bit more than 1 billion dollars. Over defamation. Give me a break.
During his term as governor of Iowa, Secretary of Agriculture, Thomas Vilsack was the founder and former chair of the Governor’s Biotechnology Partnership and named governor of the year by the Biotechnology Industry Organization (an industry lobbying group based in D.C) that supports companies like the ones mentioned above and the other evil big one, Monsanto.
Monsanto is responsible for introducing Roundup and Posilac or rBST. Both of these products bring significant health risks to animals and humans alike. These two things alone could provide me with writing material for years. Ironically enough, Monsanto’s CEO Hugh Grant receives over 10 million dollars each year in compensation. At our expense. On the board of directors of the Monsanto company you will find C. Steven McMillan CEO of Sara Lee and other notorious executives such as former CEO of GE’s Equipment Services, Arthur H. Harper and Robert J. Stevens, CEO of defense contractor, Lockheed Martin. Scary.
And who else support Monsanto? Fox. Who’s behind Fox, Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation. This corporation in turn runs significant newspaper and media outlets all over the world. Too many to count. The main ones, DirecTV, Fox Entertainment Group, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Post and British Sky Broadcasting.
The biggest users of Monsanto’s Posilac are Cargill and Tyson. Go figure.
Tyson supplies all Yum! Brands chains that use chicken (including KFC and Taco Bell), as well as McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, Wal-Mart, Kroger, IGA, Beef O’Brady’s, small restaurant businesses, prisons and most elementary & high schools in the United States. So it’s everywhere. During the past decade, Tyson has been involved in multiple lawsuits related to air and water pollution. In 2001, Tyson was also charged with conspiracy to smuggle undocumented workers to work on its production lines. In 2007, Tyson began labeling and advertising its chicken products as “Raised without Antibiotics.” After being advised by the USDA that Tyson’s use of protozoa-killing ionospheres in unhatched eggs constituted antibiotic use, Tyson and the USDA compromised on rewording Tyson’s slogan as “raised without antibiotics that impact antibiotic resistance in humans.” B.S.
With all that said, I hope everyone takes all of this into consideration next time they choose where to eat, or how to fly, what to buy, what to watch, what to read or who to vote for.
Here’s my take on this whole thing:
I think a comedy show is a comedy show and if you argue with a comedian, the comedian might say things you don’t like. Even if he doesn’t particularly believe what he is saying. Why? Cause he does it for a living. He’s fast on his feet and quick with words. He’ll humiliate you with a joke that’ll be dressed up as an insult and he’ll make it his mission to make people laugh at you and then… You’ll get angry. And you’ll accuse him of racism or some other societal tabu. Only as a desperate measure to get the “crowd” his “fans” on your side… Bullshit. There’s real life and there’s stage life. Anyone with a little bit of media coverage or stage time will tell you that. Specially in comedy. Tons of comedians have made careers out of making fun of the differences between minorities. I’m not saying it’s good or bad…. But….
You ask, “Why does it work?” and the answer is simple…
Because people buy the tickets. People buy the DVDs. People stream the videos on Netflix. That’s America. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.
I was born in Mexico and I take no offense by what he said. In fact, I personally think he never stops being funny during the course of the video. But that’s just my personal opinion.
(Reuters) – China confirmed it held its first test-flight of a stealth fighter jet on Tuesday, a show of muscle during a visit by U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates aimed at defusing military tensions between the two big powers.
Wow. So now we’re gonna show each other our guns and weapons to “difuse military tension” between countries? We’re just about out of ideas aren’t we? Ooooh! Big angry men with big fast destruction machines. That ough’ta bring peace to the world. Right. Where is Julian Assange when we need him exposing real stuff? Stuff that COULD help bring peace to hummanity… Oh right…. He was in court this morning in London still trying to clear his name after what was an obvious “smear campaign” by our own Government and CIA linked “rape” accusers. Big surprise.
Apparently U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said that President Hu Jintao made it clear to him that such demonstration was not planned at all because of Mr. Gates’ visit to Chinese territory. The U.S. Defense Secretary confirmed his belief in China’s President’s statement by saying, “I asked President Hu about it directly, and he said that the test had absolutely nothing to do with my visit and had been a pre-planned test.”
Well, I, Nikko Gibler, have my doubts. But heck, at least NOW they’ve shown us something… Anyway…That could be just the tip of the iceberg. As far as we know… They could be mocking us by showing us only what they want us to see… In any case: I respect the engineering that goes into creating an aircraft of these dimensions and characteristics so here are some images of the plane for you to download and use.
